What is POTS?
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a common autonomic nervous system disorder characterized by an excessively fast heart rate and symptoms of lightheadedness upon standing.
POTS maybe triggered by a bacterial or viral infection such as COVID-19 Viral fevers, surgery or a traumatic event. Anxiety stress. Cause our bodies to release a chemical in the bloodstream, called nor epinephrine. People with parts seem to be very sensitive to this chemical which can cause symptoms like anxiety the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms us may also not be functioning normally in POTS.

Before you begin an exercise regimen to help manage your symptoms, you should check with your doctor and get cleared to exercise. Your doctor can help you identify target heart ranges and goals for your exercise therapy.
