Medication Free Treatments

While we strongly believe in using drug free treatments in treating many neurodevelopmental and psychological conditions many of our clients may be taking prescription medications at the start of therapy. We do encourage our clients to remain on medication and work very closely with treating physicians in monitoring the changing medication needs with our comprehensive treatments.

Current research suggests that neurofeedback treatments are complimentary to many treatment approaches and tends to act synergistically to medications. In fact our treatments could improve the response or stabilize the effects of medications.

The thinking behind decreasing or reducing the dosages of medications is that as the abnormal brainwave activity becomes normalized during training, the functioning of the brain is optimized and begins to work more efficiently. As a result, the same dosage of medication may seem to have a stronger affect on a more optimally functioning brain and thus readjustment of dosage may be recommended.
